Cobalt Tetroxide is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Co3O4,Black or grayish black powder. The apparent density is 0.5-1.5g/cm3, and the tap density is 2.0-3.0g/cm3. Cobalt Tetroxide can be slowly dissolved in hot sulfuric acid, but it is insoluble in water, nitric acid and hydrochloric acid at room temperature. When heated above 1200 ℃, it will decompose into cobaltous oxide. When it is strongly heated to 900℃ in a hydrogen flame, it is reduced to metal cobalt.
