Application
Gallium is used in optical glass, vacuum tubes, and as a raw material for semiconductors. A quartz thermometer is incorporate to measure that high temperature. The addition of aluminum results in an alloy that is readily heat treatable. Alloys of gallium and gold are used in decorative and dental applications and as catalysts in organic synthesis.
