Selenium powder is an inorganic elemental substance with the chemical formula Se. It is a dark red to black amorphous powder that is insoluble in water, hydrochloric acid, and dilute sulfuric acid, but soluble in nitric acid, carbon disulfide, benzene and quinoline.
