Copper Carbonate Basic as a pigment

Basic copper carbonate (CuCO3.Cu(OH)2) is a fine amorphous peacock green powder. Density of 3.85, melting point 200 degrees decomposition, insoluble in cold water and alcohol, soluble in acid and form the corresponding copper salt, soluble in cyanide, NAOH, ammonium salt and alkali carbonate aqueous solution to form copper complex. When boiled in alkali metal carbonate solution, brown copper oxide is generated, which decomposes into black copper oxide at 2000ºC.
