Cobalt Sulfate, chemical formula CoSO4, CAS number 10026-24-1, is an inorganic compound in the form of a rose red crystalline powder. Common forms of hydrates include CoSO4 · 7H2O, with a melting point of 96-98 ℃ and a density of 1.948g/cm ³ (25 ℃). They are soluble in water and methanol, and slightly soluble in ethanol. Mainly prepared by reacting cobalt metal or cobalt oxide with sulfuric acid.
