Application

1. Used for the preparation of molybdenum salts and dyes, pigments, catalysts, corrosion inhibitors, etc.

2. It serves as a metal corrosion inhibitor, scale remover, bleaching accelerator, and skin and hair protector.

3. It is used as an analytical reagent for the determination of alkaloids, in the dye and pharmaceutical industries.

4. It is used as a precipitating agent, catalyst and molybdenum salt for the manufacture of alkaloids, inks, fertilizers, molybdenum red pigments and lightfast pigments. It can also be used to manufacture flame retardants and metal inhibitors for pollution-free cold water systems. Additionally, it is used as a galvanizing agent, polishing agent and chemical reagent.

5. Molybdate is an anodic oxide film type corrosion inhibitor. It forms a passivation film of ferrous - ferric - molybdenum oxide on the anode iron, thereby exerting a corrosion inhibition effect.
